“The role of the Trans-Caspian East-West Trade and Transit Corridor in the realization of the “Belt & Road” initiative” International Conference was held on 06 February 2018, in Beijing, the People’s Republic of China. Giorgi Cherkezishvili, deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Giorgi Peradze, General Director of JSC “Georgian Railway” and Levan Kankava, General Director of “Marabda-Kartsakhi Railway” LLC took part in the above Conference. The Conference was arranged by initiative of the government of Azerbaijan Republic. The Azerbaijan delegation under leadership of the Minister of Economic Development Mr. Shahin Mustafaev, included Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways, Javid Gurbanov. Among the participants of the Conference were Deputy Minister of Commerce of the hosting People’s Republic of China and deputy CEO of China Railway, the list of invited guests who participated in the Conference included deputy CEO of Turkish State Railway traffic, first deputy Minister of Investment and Development of Kazakhstan Republic and Vice-President of Kazakhstan Railways. Importance of BTK line and its role in specific routes, nearest future plans and further cargo flow through East-West were among the topics of discussion at the Conference.
